With the long weekend here it’s a great time to refresh and renew and recharge your battery.
Victoria is a great place for that as we have so much on our doorstep to do. You could spend some time in the Gulf Islands, there are some fabulous resorts to stay at while you tour around. Pender Island and Poet’s Cove resort is a favorite. Tofino is a further drive but wow once you get there, there is no place like it. As a world traveler is is on my top 5 places to visit regularly. One of my other favorites in Point No Point , this place is solitude in luxury at it’s best. it is a one hour drive from Victoria and it is paradise.
Victoria itself is a piece of heaven on earth, you can whale watch, take walking tours downtown about the amazing history here, you can rent a bike and get on the galloping goose one of the best bike trails around. You can rent kayaks and go down the gorge where it’s close to downtown but you feel like your miles away. We have some beautiful beaches to go and relax on in Victoria. This list goes……on & on
We have a boat named Bob that brings us endless hours of pleasure……..
So accept the invitation to come and see for yourself , I would be happy to show you around.
I hope you all have some time to relax, rejuvenate and recharge.
Cheers,
Joe and I think the same way, Thanks for a great post Joe!
My purpose in life is to have mastery of teaching the principles, providing the systems, and modeling the behavior of referability.
I have chosen to gain mastery of the referable relationship.
Mastery is an unending process so there is never a final destination to be reached.
In her great book, Mastery, Joan Ames interviewed 30 people who are considered to be at the top of their field, and asked each one how to achieve mastery, what are the components of mastery, and what are the pitfalls along the way.
The uniformity of their answers is striking.
What is amazing is that each person has complete command of the skill and even the art of their discipline, but new and ever-increasingly refined aspects of their work continue to appear.
True masters thrive on continuous learning and growth; they love the results and are equally committed to the process itself.
It made me think. Are you committed to the process of building referable relationships as much as you are to the result called a “referral”?
Are you willing to spend a lifetime as a student of referable relationships or do you just want the referrals?
The answer reveals whether you are a master or just mediocre.

Life is truly amazing, my day started with a kiss from Gregg who said Good Morning Sport (this was at 5am). We just did a 60km bike ride from our place to Sidney so nobody is sitting down today.
Off to a meeting at a movie theater for 7am put on by my bank, the speaker is John Warrillow whose book is “Built to Sell” a best seller. Buy the book and follow the advice truly!
Back at the office for a meeting with a Top Producer in our part of the country who I will be fortunate enough to do some work for, we talked about my business as well some parallels people experience as we go through life and our business. This meeting was a treat to meet someone who is really true and passionate and honest. He promised to share some Richard Robbins material with me which will be awesome.
Getting involved on a leadership role with e Women’s has given me the opportunity to talk to women I might not otherwise – that was truly a highlight of my day to hear them tell me about their business.
Off to a new networking luncheon that I was invited to attend by potentially my business coach. This group has been around since 1924 the Capital City Executives Association. Great group of Business owners, if accepted it will be possible to also be a member of the Union Club with affiliating clubs all over the world but strategic ones in Vancouver which will be amazing for my expansion.
I was able to get back and do some work for an amazing Client I met over the phone who called me about investing, that has turned out that I am able to help him with his business.
In attending a social media club meeting I met the most amazing woman who is so supportive of the business and as I write I await a referral from her to present myself to an international nutritional company as a candidate to do their blogging.
As I look out the window over the harbour I realize how truly blessed you can be to be an entrepreneur where the sky is truly the limit!
More to come,,,,
Take a moment out today to think about your dreams, they may be work related or they may be personal based or it may be they are both …take two minutes to watch www.thedreammovie for all of you that have dreams!
“Nothing happens but first a dream.”
This is one of my favorite quotes by poet Carl Sandburg. Our dreams are whispers from our soul searching for our true purpose in life. When we stop dreaming, in many ways, we…stop living.
This beautiful 3 minute movie captures the essence of dreams. When you listen to the music, look at the photos, and read the words…something magical happens!
Don’t forget to pay it forward by sharing this email with friends, family and co-workers.

In preparation for a speech I am giving tomorrow night, I have identified the most powerful financial principles in the Universe:
1. Compound Interest – identified by Einstein as “the most powerful force in the Universe.” More so than nuclear fission, I guess. Understanding how compounding works is critical to both wealth generation and, avoiding debt.
2. The Difference between Pre and Post-Tax Income – it is very hard to accumulate wealth by focusing on only pre-tax income.
3. Never Invest unless You Understand How it Works – perhaps hindsight is 20-20 but no clear-headed analysis would ever had led to an investment with Bernie Madoff.
4. 62.8% of Financial Products are Designed for the Seller, not the Buyer – of course the number is made up but too many financial products are designed by marketers. I submit as evidence the creative mortgage products that caused so much heartache in the last few years.
5. Always Add Value to YOU, INC. – there are no safe jobs anymore. Do everything you can do make yourself as valuable as possible.
6. It’s 10 Times Easier to Spend Than Save, 20 Times Easier to Spend Than Earn – we are deluged with thousands of financial inducements every day – 99% of which are pushing purchases. It’s no coincidence that credit cards are so small and thin – easy to whip out of your wallet.
7. What Goes Up Will Go Down – I submit the Housing Crisis into evidence.
8. Passive Income is Freedom – the goal is to produce investments and assets that make you money when you are sleeping.
9. Entrepreneurism is all Powerful – spend some percentage of your time and capital seeking life-changing returns… risk has a tendency to bring focus.
10. Passion is Paramount – no one ever got wealthy spending their days watching the clock. Find something you love doing and then do it with all your might. The wealth will follow.
